      IBM DB2 z/OS technical update

      DB2 9 – Technical Overview with Redbook experiences
      Kevin Harrison, IBM - West Region Technical Sales Support for DB2 zSeries

      Kevin Harrison is a Certified Senior I/T Architect with broad experience in application development, database
      management systems, architecture development, technical infrastructures, and system integration. He is
      responsible for pre/post sales technical consulting for DB2 on zSeries in the West region. Kevin draws on
      a wide range of experience from 27 years of involvement with DB2 on large systems, with 18 of those years at
      IBM as a DB2 technical specialist. Kevin has served as a DB2 educator, led many DB2 design/implementation reviews,
      and DB2/zSeries performance and tuning engagements and has participated in a DB2 performance redbook residency
      project. Kevin serves as an IBM liaison to several regional DB2 user groups. Kevin is certified in several
      disciplines for DB2 on z/OS and currently is a member of the IBM North American I/T Architect Certification board,
      IBM zChampions, IBM Americas Data Management technical competency, and the DB2 for z/OS Performance review board.

      Java Common Client Enhancements
      John Vonau, IBM

      John Vonau is a Senior Software Engineer from the IBM Boulder Laboratory. He is currently one of the development
      team leads for the IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ. His team is responsible for T4 Connectivity and
      DRDA (Distributed Relational Database Architecture). John recently rejoined this team after serving as the client
      server test lead of the DB2 for z/OS Native Stress Test group. Prior to this, he was co-leader of the original
      development team for the IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ. John also worked on the design and development
      of new DRDA features in DB2 Connect Version 5 and Version 6.

      This presentation will provide an overview of recent enhancements to the IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ.
      Topics will cover features for the various target servers and connectivity types. When appropriate, usage tips will
      be provided for the various features.

      Controlling Data Growth Through Database Archiving in a DB2 Environment
      Bruce Fischer, IBM

      Bruce Fischer has over 25 years of experience in all areas information technology. His background includes
      MVS systems programming, database administration, software products development and IT management. For
      the last few years Bruce has been working with Princeton Softech clients around the world assisting in the
      implementation of the companies relational database technologies. Currently, he is a Senior Consultant
      responsible for working with clients to develop enterprise wide database archiving strategies.
